It's almost time for the bi-annual UCD Summer Youth Lacrosse Clinic! The dates are June 21-22, 2008 from 9am to 1pm on Russell Field on the UC Davis campus. Here is the official flyer for the event! The cost of the clinic is $65 (we offer team discounts). Children 8 years or older are welcome. There will be seperate instruction for beginners and advanced players, and everyone will get to play with the UC Davis Lacrosse team. This year, Scorpion Lacrosse will be at the clinic giving out lacrosse equipment, and will also be hosting an optional raffle to win hats, T-shirts, and lacrosse shafts. UPDATE (4/15/08) - Season's End

The UC Davis lacrosse season for 2008 officially comes to a close with a close loss to Santa Clara. The final season record is 5 wins, 10 losses. This season, the Aggies experienced the toughest schedule the team has ever seen, with almost all opponents ranked in the top 30 of the MCLA poll. Only in three losses was the score differential higher than three, and one goal in a sudden death could have put the Aggies in the playoffs. The Aggies are a young team, with only a handful of seniors leaving. The Aggies are never satisfied, and are looking eagerly towards next season.

UPDATE (4/11/08) - Santa Clara game time changed

After a hard-fought loss to Sonoma State, the Ags want to finish their season on a good note. They will be playing Santa Clara on Sunday, April 13th, at 11am at Dairy Field. Note the time change for the game.

UPDATE (4/1/08) - Stanford, Sonoma, and Santa Clara

The Aggies got some good east coast lacrosse experience, losing against BC and Northeastern and beating BU. Game write-ups and stats are available as links on the schedule. Now, the Ags have their eyes on Stanford on April 5th, Sonoma (divisional game!) on April 10th, and Santa Clara on April 13th to close out the regular season.

UPDATE (3/20/08) - Spring Break around the corner...

After victories against University of Idaho (12 to 4) and UNR (14 to 4), UC Davis is picking up steam for their upcoming games. The Ags will soon fly out to Boston for some east coast spring break action, playing Boston College, Northeastern, and Boston University. Please note the changes in our 3 spring break game times/locations.

Our game against Boston College will now be at the Alumni Stadium at Boston College at 8:30pm on March 26th.
Our game against Northeastern will now be at Charlestown H.S. at 6pm on March 27th.
Our game against Boston University (still held at BU) will be at 8:30pm.

UPDATE (3/12/08) - Culpepper Book Buy-back fundraiser, Idaho

With finals upcoming, all you students may soon want to sell back your textbooks. The UC Davis Lacrosse team gets 20% of the selling price of each book (you still get your full selling price for the books even with the donation). Here is the official flier for the event. This is a big fundraiser for our team, so we would greatly appreciate you selling your books back to Culpepper's Books (inside the U-Mall, 825 Russell Ste. 33) and mentioning the men's lacrosse team! Thanks!

On another note, the University of Idaho is coming to UC Davis on Thursday, March 13th. Come out and support your Aggies!

UPDATE (3/5/08) - Chico flier

As you may know, our game against divisional rival, Chico, is coming up. In light of the big game this weekend, a flier has been made to promote the game, and hopefully get as many people out there as possible. Download the flier and post it around town!

UPDATE (2/26/08) - St. Mary's and NDNU recap, Chico upcoming

Over the weekend, your Aggies beat St. Mary's 12-4 [summary] and lost to NDNU 0-15 [summary]. UC Davis now has two weeks to prepare for divisional rival Chico State on March 8th. This could be the team's biggest game of the regular season, so we ask for your support and come to the game!

UPDATE (2/18/08) - Store update and St. Mary's date change

After a couple close games, the Aggies are looking to secure a win this week against St. Mary's. NOTICE: The game date has changed from THURSDAY 2/21 to FRIDAY 2/22. Please update your calendars! Furthermore, it will be played on De La Salle High School Field in Concord. The address to the school is 1130 Winton Dr., Concord, CA 94518. Here are Mapquest directions from Davis.

UPDATE (2/8/08) - Claremont and Parent Barbeque

The team won 10-4 last week against Oregon State [summary] and they are looking to keep their momentum rolling into their home game this weekend against Claremont on Sunday at noon. Parents of the team, we invite you to come out to the game and participate in the annual Parent Barbeque following the game.

UPDATE (1/30/08) - Oregon State coming up

After a disappointing loss to Cal on Saturday [summary], there is a bitter taste in the team's mouth. With Oregon State on Saturday at 1pm, the team is looking to bounce back. The game will be played at Dairy Field on Saturday, RAIN or SHINE.

UPDATE (1/24/08) - Successful Alumni game, Cal upcoming...

The game against Cal is at Maxwell Family Field at UC Berkeley on Saturday, January 26th at 7pm. Here are directions.

UPDATE (1/11/08) - Alumni Game!

The annual alumni game is right around the corner, on January 19th. We encourage all of our fans to come out to the game and help us kick off the regular season with a bang. There will be a raffle to help raise money to refurbish the Ray Grelecki Memorial Wall on Russell Field.

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Fall 2007 UC Davis Lacrosse Clinic. The two-day clinic was a success, and we hope that everyone who came had a good time and learned a little bit too! The pictures from the clinic are now posted, and if anyone wants a higher-resolution copy, email us. Our next camp will be in mid-June of 2008, so stay tuned for more details.

Our regular season schedule has also been finalized, so check it out. Our first games are coming up soon, starting with the Alumni Game on Jan. 19th and against Cal on the 26th. Go Ags!

UPDATE (11/5/07) - End of Fall Ball

After the Las Vegas Best of the West tournament, the UC Davis fall ball season officially comes to a close. With a strong showing against some of the best teams in the WCLL, we have learned what it is going to take to get where we want to be. The regular season begins in January, starting with the Alumni Game and soon after against Cal. The regular season schedule will be posted soon.

UPDATE (10/21/07) - Successful Start

Yesterday's games at St. Mary's College went very well for UC Davis lacrosse. We won all four games against UOP (7-0), UNR (7-0), SMC (3-1), and UCSC (11-2). The team is now looking ahead to next week's games against Stanford, Santa Clara, and Sonoma.

UPDATE (10/6/07) - Full Swing

The 2007 Fall ball season will officially start tomorrow, Monday, October 8th 2007. This season is going to be busy, but a lot of fun. Click on the schedule link for the dates for our fall ball games and events.

UPDATE (9/22/07) - Back to business: a couple updates...

This year's first meeting will take place Wednesday, October 3 at 8 pm in Wellman 126. This is a great opportunity for incoming freshmen to learn more about the lacrosse team, especially in regards to the upcoming fall ball season. There will be no commitment needed at the meeting (or the first few practices) and allows newcomers to meet the team, learn about practice/game schedule, and ask any questions. Anybody is welcome.

Fall Clinic

The dates for this year's annual fall clinic is set for November 10th and 11th. Any players age 8-18, any skill level are welcome! Come play with the Davis Lacrosse team and experience the Davis campus! The official registration sheet is coming soon, however feel free to email us to reserve your spot.

UPDATE (7/10/07) - Thanks to all who came to the clinic. It was another success, and we look forward to seeing everybody back at our fall clinic. Check back for more details regarding the upcoming fall clinic.

Welcome to the recently renovated UC Davis Lacrosse team website.

The UC Davis lacrosse team was established in 1979. It is one of the oldest college lacrosse clubs in California.

In the 2007 season, our team beat Cal 11-4 and Stanford 12-6 after losing to both teams in fall ball. It marked the first time in many years that we beat both programs. For our spring break, we travelled to Salt Lake City, UT and swept three games in three days beating Utah State, Oregon State, and Westminster College.

On April 14th, Davis put their season on the line, going to Chico to compete for one remaining playoff spot. Chico came out strong and took a 4-1 lead. In the second half, Davis rallied to bring it to 6-4, but could find enough time to secure a lead.

Although playoffs eluded the Davis team in 2007, they still finished with a final record of 9-6 and had a very successful season. The team is still very young and is looking to continue its success in the future.

UC Davis Lacrosse is anxiously looking forward to Fall Ball 2007 and Regular Season 2008 to return to the playoffs.
